Facing a false teaching that Christ had already returned, Saint Paul tells them a great tribulation must occur before Jesus returns.
As an interesting note in history, 2 Thessalonians 3.10 was adopted by Vladimir Lenin – “He who does not work, neither shall he eat” – as a slogan for The Soviet Union.
