The Book of Psalms
The most quoted book of the Old Testament, The Book of Psalms is a collection of songs and poems by authors including King David, Moses and Solomon. They express an array of emotions, both praising God’s love, and lamenting painful times. Used in worship and personal devotion, they echo the spiritual journey of individuals and collective life of Israel.
This Audio Bible production faithfully reads them w/ scrolling text, though bear in mind that while some Psalms lend themselves perfectly to this classic audiobook style, some are songs. If these strike your ear as odd presented this way, trust me – singing would have been much more irritating. 😉
